Browser crashed with 45 participants

Hello, we held a jitsi conference this week with 45 participants. We only used audio. On the server side, everything seems to have worked out fine. However, some participants had the problem that their computers became very slow and sometimes their browsers crashed. Others had no problems at all. This is probably due to the performance of the respective computer, but I couldn’t check that exactly. We recommended Chrome to all participants, which most of them probably followed.

However, I don’t quite understand why the clients are overloaded, especially since I’ve heard of much larger jitsi conferences. Any idea? Is there anything we can do about it?
