Authenticate users against other XMPP server?

I’m using the configuration explained in

and it seems to work fine.

However, I don’t like to maintain the users and passwords, because I already have an XMPP server.
It would be nice, if all users of the existing XMPP server would just be accepted with their password.
The existing XMPP server is, however, on a different machine.

Is there a way to do this?

Many thanks in advance for any hint!

Not sure whether that is easy achievable, if you can configure any of these to be used, then it is possible.

In the end, I chose a rustic solution:

  • I export the relevant users and passwords from my existing XMPP servers SQL database
  • and rsync generated files to the new one

Works like a charm, but don’t recommend this hack to nobody!
